It is an opportunity to look deep into the complex mechanism that works every day \u2014 often without rest, without complaints, and without pause.<\/li>\r\n  <li><strong>Every finger movement, every grip, the tension while writing, or tremor after exertion<\/strong> is reflected in the bones, ligaments, joints, and nerves of the hand.<\/li>\r\n  <li><strong>At first glance<\/strong>, it is just a palm. In reality, it is a structure of 27 bones, dozens of tendons, and numerous small joints that work in perfect coordination and are at the same time highly vulnerable.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\r\n<p><strong>When May a Physician Recommend CT of the Hand?<\/strong><\/p>\r\n<ul>\r\n  <li>If pain in the wrist or fingers persists and routine examinations do not provide an answer.<\/li>\r\n  <li>If there is uncertainty after an injury \u2014 whether the bones healed properly or whether microfractures or subluxations remain.<\/li>\r\n  <li>If hand movements become limited, grip strength decreases, or there is a sensation that the fingers are \u201ccatching\u201d or \u201clocking.\u201d<\/li>\r\n  <li>If systemic conditions such as rheumatoid disease, gout, or inflammatory disorders are suspected.<\/li>\r\n  <li>If the hand appears normal visually, but the patient feels that \u201csomething is wrong.\u201d<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\r\n<p><strong>What Does CT of the Hand Show?<\/strong><\/p>\r\n<ul>\r\n  <li><strong>A precise image of each bone<\/strong> \u2014 even the smallest phalanx.<\/li>\r\n  <li><strong>Changes that may not be visible on ultrasound or standard X-rays<\/strong>, including areas of sclerosis, deformities, and tumors.<\/li>\r\n  <li><strong>Consequences of chronic overuse<\/strong> \u2014 wear, flattening, and displacement of joint surfaces.<\/li>\r\n  <li><strong>The postoperative area<\/strong> \u2014 implant position, bone healing, and the presence of foreign bodies.<\/li>\r\n  <li><strong>Early changes that may indicate serious disease<\/strong> before symptoms become obvious.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>CT of the hand is more than just an image.
