{"id":916,"date":"2025-03-18T22:14:40","date_gmt":"2025-03-18T20:14:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/kt-medservice.com.ua\/?p=916"},"modified":"2026-05-19T23:31:55","modified_gmt":"2026-05-19T21:31:55","slug":"komu-protipokazane-provedennya-kt","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kt-medservice.com.ua\/en\/articles\/komu-protipokazane-provedennya-kt\/","title":{"rendered":"Who Should Not Undergo CT?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Although Computed Tomography (CT) is considered a relatively safe procedure, there are several contraindications that may make the examination impossible or affect its accuracy.<\/p>\r\n\r\n<h6>Absolute Contraindications:<\/h6>\r\n<ul>\r\n    <li><strong>Pregnancy<\/strong> (especially during the first trimester) \u2014 CT may be performed only in critical situations when the life of the mother or child is at risk and urgent imaging is necessary.<\/li>\r\n    <li><strong>Body weight over 120 kg<\/strong> \u2014 this limitation applies to standard CT scanners.<\/li>\r\n    <li><strong>Inability to remain still for the duration of the examination<\/strong> \u2014 in some patients, this may make the procedure technically impossible.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\r\n<h6>Contraindications for Contrast-Enhanced CT:<\/h6>\r\n<ul>\r\n    <li><strong>Allergy to iodine-containing medications<\/strong> or a history of severe multiple or cross-allergic reactions.<\/li>\r\n    <li><strong>Previous adverse reactions to iodinated contrast agents<\/strong> during earlier imaging studies.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\r\n<h6>Situations Requiring Physician Consultation:<\/h6>\r\n<ul>\r\n    <li>Patients with <strong>elevated blood creatinine levels<\/strong> should undergo medical evaluation before contrast administration.<\/li>\r\n    <li>If there is a history of <strong>serious thyroid disorders<\/strong> accompanied by thyrotoxicosis, temporary restrictions on iodine-containing contrast may be necessary.<\/li>\r\n    <li>Patients with <strong>type 2 diabetes mellitus<\/strong>, especially those taking glucose-lowering medications, may require temporary adjustment of treatment before and after the examination.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\r\n<p>The decision to perform a CT scan in these situations is always made individually by the physician after assessing all potential risks and benefits.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Although Computed Tomography (CT) is considered a relatively safe procedure, [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":4,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[9],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-916","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-articles"],"translation":{"provider":"WPGlobus","version":"2.8.2","language":"en","enabled_languages":["uk","en","ru"],"languages":{"uk":{"title":true,"content":true,"excerpt":false},"en":{"title":true,"content":true,"excerpt":false},"ru":{"title":true,"content":true,"excerpt":false}}},"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v24.6 - https:\/\/yoast.com\/wordpress\/plugins\/seo\/ -->\n<title>Who Should Not Undergo CT?
